Practitioners of Art within an Evolving Technological Landscape
Initiated by United Media Artists, The 2027 The South West International Festival of Media Arts will be created by UMA England, ideally in association with Arts Council England, The British Council, Somerset Council, Hauser and Wirth, Bruton & Glastobury Festival

AIMS
The aim of the festival is to bring the best of Digital Art into Somerset and surrounding cities for a 10 day festival using local screening spaces, art galleries and installation spaces. Our proposition is that this is a living festival - meaning the artists who show work from all around the world will be physically present (and where that's not possible) by zoom on a public screen. This festival will be facilitated by United Media Artists England (please check where UMA have already exhibited). The intention is to create a Biennial recurring Festival to speak about the UK's primacy in Digital Art. We welcome International partnerds into helping spread this initiative around, and also to set up partner festivals worldwide.

DATES
The 2027 festival will take place in Somerset in September 2027 between the opening on Friday evening 10th September until and including Sunday 19th September (subject to revision) and will include installations, Public Arts commissions, interior and exterior; Screenings -  mainly interior but with some exterior screenings - attended by artists or zoomed into for interviews if they're as far afield as Australia and Japan. Otherwise world leading Digital Artists will be present courtesy of our sponsor airlines.
